VeggieTales: Robin Good & His Not So Merry Men review

$10.49

This is in my top five of my favorite VeggieTales DVDs.  I already like Robin Hood and I like the twist of fundraising from the rich because stealing really is never a good thing.  Robin's friends certainly learn a lesson. Robin does too!  VeggieTales always entertain and send a positive and learning filled message.  I also like all the music that is incorporated into the shows.

A long time ago, in the faraway town of Bethlingham, roved a band of merry men led by the fearless Robin Good.  Their mission: to help people by fundraising from the rich and giving to the poor!  But when a greedy Prince starts stealing the townspeople's hams, donations are down and Robin's friends take off and decide to give robbing from the rich a try.  Feeling rejected, Robin thinks things can't get any worse, until he finds out that the ham-hoarding Prince has also captured his friends.  Can Robin overcome his own hurt, rescue his friends and restore the townspeople;s hope?  Find out in this fun Veggie story where kids learn that there's no hurt too big for God!

Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy REVIEW

Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy

"In this Veggie-version of a holiday classic, Junior Asparagus stars as The Little Drummer Boy, a lonely child who finds the true meaning of Christmas when he stumbles upon the birth of the baby Jesus.  A story of hope, love and forgiveness, this timeless tale will warm the hearts of children everywhere!"

This DVD is a great family treat.  It is about 45 minutes and is perfect for a little cuddle time around the holidays.  I loved the song The 8 Polish Foods of Christmas!  A great movie any time of the year but perfect for gearing up for Christmas, you know the story of The Little Drummer Boy but VeggieTales puts their own twists to it.

Veggie Tales Bob Lends a Helping Hand REVIEW

Another great VeggieTales DVD.  It is always great when friends can lend a helping hand.  The power of positive attitudes shines through when Joe sees that he can find a superhero in himself and that helping others and seeing their appreciation is sometimes the best reward there is.

I enjoy how VeggieTales takes a story you already might know and simplifies it and makes it more kid friendly like in the case of Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue.  You may recognize the story just by the names alone. :)

Veggie Tales Bob Lends a Helping Hand
"When Joe's mom breaks her big left toe, Bob the Tomato decides to help.  Larry and Joe offer their 'superhero' help, too, but that's not exactly what Bob has in mind.  Kids will discover right along with Larry and Joe that everyone can be a superhero if you lend a helping hand!

Also includes two classic shows!

Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue
Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry discover that although helping others may not always be the easiest thing to do, it's always the right thing to do!

Lyle the Kindly Viking
Junior Asparagus stars as a courageous young Viking who goes against the tide and takes  stand against greed; he proves that when we share, we get our share of friends!"

VeggieTales: Larry Learns to Listen

I know I say this every time I review a VeggieTales DVD, but I LOVE the theme song! :)

So Larry gets in a bit of trouble, not only is he not being the best listener he is also not a very good direction follower.  I think using a game as an example is very dear to some kiddos hearts so it is easy to relate.  I love how there is always a positive spin to what the characters are saying-they don't get angry and scream at each other just to get their point across.  The characters tell each other their honest opinions but do it with a positive calm demeanor.    Definitely a family friendly DVD.

I love the singalongs-I found myself humming "Listen" at work when we were having a listening issue. :)

"When Larry's new Space Squadron game finally arrives, he's so anxious to play that he forgets to read the directions.  When his friends do their best to tell him, Larry refuses to listen!  What happen es?  His game goes "KERPOW!" That's when Larry learns a valuable lesson in listening as his friends come to the rescue.  Kids will discover, right along with Larry, that God gave friends and family to help us through each day-so when we listen we don't miss what others have to say!"
